The International Council of Toy Industries (ICTI) has updated its website to include information about global toy industry issues, international safety standards, and a worldwide calendar of toy industry events. The web updates reflect discussion items presented at the 39th ICTI Annual General Meeting held earlier this month in Washington, DC.

This summary report provides a “look back” at the key toy industry issues of 2012 identified by the countries represented at the ICTI meeting. Issues of the past year included changes or updates to toy safety standards and regulations; the changing retail landscape; the global economic downturn; competition from smartphones and tablets; and more. The discussion of these topics at the meeting served as a springboard to address the future of the toy industry – in 2013 and beyond.
